The author

Veronica Newman was called to the Bar by Gray's Inn in 1984. Following pupillage in London Chambers she practised in Manchester Chambers, covering a broad range of common law claims. After private practice at the Bar she worked for two firms of solicitors, first in Manchester and then for a national law firm at their Cardiff office. Later, she worked as a university lecturer in law. She has now returned to legal practice as a sole practitioner. Veronica lives in Cardiff with her husband, Paul, and their two sons.
